First off, those of you who aren't hip to The New 52, it is the "rebooted" DC Comic's universe. A little over 2 years ago DC decided to cancel every running title and restart with 52 new titles. Hence: New 52.
I've been a pretty big fan. A lot of the continuity problems were solved, the characters became more accessible, and hell, Cyborg became a founding member of the Justice League. Its hard to top that.
Well I've found out recently that a handful of these titles will be ended in April 2014.
These titles include: Justice League of America, Storm Watch, Superman Unchained, Teen Titans (perhaps the biggest blow), Suicide Squad, and Nightwing. All in all that is a devastating blow. These are all titles I like and they've been given the axe.
It's not all storm clouds of sadness. As is often times the case, with death comes rebirth. There are several new titles being released: Aquaman and the Others, Justice League United, Secret Origins, and Sinestro!!!
It's a shame to see a lot of these titles go, but hopefully the new titles can help expand the New 52 Universe.

How I Write
I've never really been one for following the "rules" of writing.
In high-school I'd constantly get in trouble for writing in shot sentences.
Short, choppy sentences. I strongly believe that writing is an art form. If a sentence looks strange or off, it's because the writer/author intended it to be. (That or the writer is doesn't write very well.)
How can you tell someone they're writing is bad solely because you don't like the structure of a paragraph? The wording of a sentence?
It'd be like saying "Oh, that painting is horrible, but it would be fantastic if only you used more green." Its all about artistic expression.
With that said, I'm not sure how the writing for all these posts will turn out. I can almost assure you there won't be an intentional pattern or theme shared across multiple blog posts. These days i just let the mood take me to where ever it does.

First Post
This is my first post.
That being the case, I'm not too sure what direction this will take, or even what direction to start with.
To start, I like comic books. A lot. I was thinking i would use this blog to talk about the weekly comic books i get, as well as older favorites.
With that in mind, I love a set of titles that make up the "Ultimate Marvel universe". It is like a duplicate universe, with most of the popular characters making appearances, starting with Ultimate Spiderman in 2000 followed by Ultimate X-Men and Ultimate Fantastic Four and a limited series titled The Ultimates (Ultimate Avengers… sort of.)
From these four titles, an entierlly new universe was born, complete with it's own continuity.
This has been going on for about 14 years at this point, some titles have been canceled: Ultimate Fantastic Four, Ultimate X-Men (twice), and Ultimate Spiderman (though it has been restarted). Along the way a lot of main characters have died, and some jaw-dropping "doomsday" level events have occurred, all leading up to: Ultimate Comics Cataclysm: Ultimates Last Stand.
All answers point to this world being anilated by a giant dude with a purple helmet (Though there is a slim chance of survival).
I'd say if you're a fan of Marvel then you should definitly check this stuff out.
